All Work No Play

For the first 10 years of my working life, all I do is work, work and work. I don’t enjoy my life besides working. I work all the time and my leisure time is spending on work again. I don’t enjoy vacation or nice activities outdoor. Sometimes, I wonder would I prefer to spend my life differently. I know that I can’s rewritten the price or changed it. But, I don’t go out much and my social life is none.

I know that I have no trouble finding new friends because I have a nice personality. But, I thought that I like to work first and save up enough money for my future. I know that most women thought that they would get married someday and the money would be no problem because it would be the man who held responsibility for that. I don’t have the same thinking. I never imagine myself getting married in the future and I like to have a lot of money for myself.

The Shy Person inside Me

I recently started my own small shoe business. It involves selling and dealing with people which I can honestly say that I am not pretty good at. I really can get along well with people once they are my friends already.

People would often refer to me as the shy one. The problem is that I am not good in selling. Like convincing someone to buy something isn’t my forte at all. I remember when I applied for a job. The manager interviewed me. He asked me how can I sell a sunglass to a blind person. And then another test is for me to try to sell him a used toothbrush. I failed that interview.

I think that this shyness inside me would be a big problem for me. So I realized that if I want to be successful in this selling business I think I should overcome this immediately.

That Phantom-Hunger Feeling

It’s strange how the more you try to avoid eating so much, the more you feel ‘hungry’ even when you’re not. This is what I’ve been feeling the past few days. I decided to go on a diet last week and, ironically, have been having incredible cravings that I just can’t seem to avoid or fight. The more I try to cut off on carbs, the more I feel like eating all the time.

Everywhere I go, I see tempting food and it just feels like they are calling to me. I guess this is just what happens when you forbid yourself from doing something—it just makes you want to do it all the more. Perhaps, in a few weeks’ time, I will be more susceptible to these kinds of temptation and I’ll finally get used to a healthy diet. Hopefully, this phantom-hunger symptom will be long gone by then!

Listening To Classical Music

Not everyone loves the classical music. I have been in love with classical tunes since I was in high school. I like the orchestra songs and all the composers, especially Chopin. His music is not a happy one, but somehow it moves my heart. Chopin didn’t have a long life, but he has created dozens of songs. I hear from my friend who played the piano, that his composition is one of the hardest to play.

My brother and sister just feel asleep when listening to the classical music. But, I stay awake and feel absolutely refreshed hearing it. I like the sound of the piano and the violin mixing together to create great harmony. I heard that baby also like to hear classical music. There are even books that stated that Mozart’s symphony is good for baby since before birth. Well, I would not mind having my baby listen to classical music during my pregnancy because I love that music.

Gonna write it down

Have you ever questioned yourself where your money all gone? Why you are always short of savings at the end of the day? What are those things that you spend your salary with? Yes, I know this random questions and I have always been asking myself the same questions the whole time. Well, that was before I started documenting my expenses.

Yes, I do document my expenses, every single cents of it, from my daily transportation fare to a new pair of shoes. Everything should be documented, I should write it down. It started when I startled where my money all gone and had lost track of my expenses. Not until a friend of mine suggested of documenting my expenses as what she also do with hers.

Writing it down really helped me, not just with savingsand tracking down my expenses but it guaranteed me with a discipline and a more mature way in handling my own money.

Spice Up Your Routine With Yoga or Zumba

I keep fit by going to the gym and doing mostly cycling exercises or using light weights. I also swim a few laps during the weekend. My trainer has been encouraging me to try other ways to become fit. I am considering either yoga or zumba. Both are appealing but in different ways.

Yoga strengthens the core. I am amazed at what positions these yoga enthusiasts could bring their bodies to do. It impresses me that anyone could hold such a difficult pose for long periods of time. It also seems to make people at peace. I am the queen of stress and yoga may be the answer.

On the other hand, zumba is loud and exciting. There is never a boring moment in that class. The music is infectious too. I will actually be trying these two classes this week. Wish me luck. I hope I won’t break a bone.

Sun Block is Your Friend!

My mom’s best advice to me is to never leave the house without protecting your skin. This means I need to have a hat with me. I also need to apply sun block on my face. Of course, I will follow her recommendation. She may be 60 years old now but looks like she’s only 40.

Aside from preventing wrinkles, it keeps skin cancer away too. Being in a tropical country takes a toll on your skin. Taking care of it is trickier than if you lived in a cool, low-humid environment. Her other tip is to hydrate regularly. So drink at least eight glasses of water a day or you will soon look like a dried prune.

The world is harsh enough as it is. There is no reason for us to let the elements damage our skin. It helps to keep the skin clean by washing it with a mild cleanser too.
